Code of Conduct

Twin Cities Veg Fest is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, and harassment-free experience for all participants, which include all attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, and volunteers.

All attendees are welcome, regardless of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnic origin, religious beliefs, disability, physical appearance, body size, or dietary practice.

We expect all participants to treat each other with respect. Participants should think about the shared space they’re in and the needs of others and adjust their behavior to meet the goals of a common good for the community, i.e., expressing what they want to say but accepting and accommodating the needs of others.

Harassment includes, but is not limited to, verbal comments intended to humiliate or belittle, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, or inappropriate physical contact. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any part of the event, including the festival speeches or exhibits. Exhibitors should not use sexualized images, activities, or other material. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized, disrespectful, or intimidating environment.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expelling the offender from the event.

Anyone being harassed, noticing that someone else is being harassed, or having any other concerns, should please contact a member of event staff immediately. The organizer team wears Twin Cities Veg Fest t-shirts with the word “Organizer” on the back

Event staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event. We value everyone’s participation.
